  • Profileplot

    Hello,
I can't find profileplot command and it can't be installed on my stata? Is there a way to get it other than ssc install or is there other alternatives (other than xtgraph)?

Have a look at the UCLA website here where an example is discussed.
In the past profileplot could be downloaded from UCLA.

The profileplot.ado was developed by Phil Ender, formally working at UCLA.
Although I have it, I am not sure if I can simply put it here.

Maybe someone else can give some advice on this.

    Best,

Phil Ender is retired from UCLA but active. I have a feeling that profileplot is among several commands that are not so visible now because of lack of person power or time to support them, especially outside UCLA.

But the essence of profileplot is I think matched by other commands such as parplot from SSC.

The matter is complicated by a range of views on what a profile plot is.

It is regrettable that UCLA IDRE reorganized their pages a few years ago and did not maintain the Stata software page in a format that it can be indexed by Stata for the search command - since all of their documentation tells you to use the search command to find and install their commands. Rather than point directly to the page from which it can be downloaded, let me document the full path to it, so that others searching Statalist for other IDRE materials might benefit.

This now seems to be the UCLA IDRE topmost page for Stata.

        https://stats.idre.ucla.edu/stata/

Clicking on Stata Programs for Research and Teaching on that page takes you to

        https://stats.idre.ucla.edu/stata/ado/

From there, clicking on IDRE Stata programs for data analysis takes you to

        https://stats.idre.ucla.edu/stata/ado/analysis/

And on that page you can find and download profileplot version 1.2 in a zip archive.
