  • Congratulations to Nick Cox for reaching 20,000 posts

As is customary in this list, we send congratulatory messages to users who reach milestones. So congratulations to Nick Cox for reaching 20,000 posts. It is rare that someone who is the best at something is also the most tireless, but this is true of Nick. I hope that I speak for the rest of the Stata community in expressing our gratitude to him for sharing his time and immense talent.

I was hoping that no-one would notice, but fat chance. Thanks very much for the nice words.

According to some comments on social media "tiresome" would be the better word. Someone on Twitter described me as "passive-aggressive". I have to look up that term every time I see it. It doesn't sound like me to me.

Great words, Andrew. You speak for me. Nick's contributions to Statalist (and to the Stata community more generally) are incredibly useful. I bet that many an article, book or thesis, has been improved significantly by Nick's helpful remarks. Thank you, Nick!

Congratulations Nick Cox. I joined others to express my appreciation to your contributions to this community. This forum has helped me learn and love Stata as a statistical software of choice. I will maybe one day claim the prize of being among the most often online ( just kidding). Please remain tireless and maybe "passive-agressive" (I am a french speaker and hence may not fully grasp the meaning) we need you. Best wishes.

30,000 has been abolished as any kind of threshold. We're switching to logarithmic thinking. After 20000 the next big deal is 50000.
