Tests of significance in by-group summary statistics

Hello,

I have split my sample into three time periods (pre-GFC, GFC, post-GFC) when reporting summary statistics.

I am seeking to add stars to the "mean" columns in my summary statistics output.

I want these stars to represent the level of significance from testing for differences in means between the following time periods:

• Pre-GFC panel: no stars or tests
• GFC panel: pre-GFC vs. GFC
• Post-GFC panel: post-GFC vs. pre-GFC

The final output needs to be exported to Word. I am currently using asdoc for other exports.

I would really appreciate any help I can obtain on this forum. Thank you.

You might find this post useful. Option row() of asdoc is used to make customized tables, however, it needs advanced knowledge of the option row().
