  • Publish Shiny web App containing Stata Code

    Hello,
I have a R-Shiny web app I would like to publish. We have our own server and we can publish R-Shiny web apps but at some point in this specific app, I use Stata to compute a model (not developed on R). I would like to know if someone faced the same issue and how he/she managed to deal with.

For clarity purpose: the application works already but on my computer. Because, I use the package RStata to run the Stata code from R. The question is how should I proceed if I want to put the app on the server ? Is there a Stata server version similar to the one for R?

Another aspect may be the legal issue, our Lab has Stata of course but is it permitted to use Stata online? R-Shiny App means the possibility of replication, hence any user will have the possibility (limited) to re-run the model let's say by changing the predictors, the sample or the period. This mean indirectly using Stata to produce or verify the results.

    Many thanks.

I think this version of Stata may be appropriate: https://www.stata.com/products/numerics-by-stata/
