validity test of questionnaire

Hi every one
please i m helping my friend in analysis
he used questionnaire everything went well but we could not do the AVE test for validity of the questionnaire
please could anyone guide me how to do it in stata, i tried to google it but no one explains it

You'll increase your chances of a useful answer by following the FAQ on asking questions. Also note that we are mainly not from your area so you need to define your terms (like AVE) and preferably explain what you want to calculate.

If you tell us what exactly you want to test, then we can probably help you. The only possible option for what you seem to want that I know of is the exploratory factor analysis to see if the survey's responses all fall into one factor to assess common method bias - i.e., if one factor explains most of the variation, then you're not measuring different things. Stata's factor procedure does explanatory factor analysis. However, there are serious questions whether finding multiple factors really lets you reject common methods problems. Otherwise, it is hard to see what possible test could test the validity of a questionnaire - reliability we can assess statistically, but validity is not simply a statistical issue.
