  • How can i convert a *.dsv file into a *.dta file?

    Hi

I would like to work with a dataset of the recent president's election in Argentina. But I couldn't open it with Stata, because it's a *.dsv file. Any advice? The only software I know is Stata

It's impossible to say without knowing the format of how data are stored in a DSV file. Surely this information is posted wherever you downloaded the dataset from. Perhaps if you post this information you may recieved some useful advice.

The .dsv extension seems to get used by more than one type of file. You can try this:

Hi! I'm trying to it, too.
Just import the dsv file like delimited text data and separate it with a "|" (obviously choose "personalize"). That doesn't work out all the issues but it was useful for me.

Even if you really don't know Excel, you might be able to read the data in excel and then save it as csv or and excel file.
