  • guide of panel analysis (for beginner with STATA)

I need an easy practical guide (paper) to study panel data. Starting from the beginning (import an excel file for data), and continue the study with the principles commands for panel analysis. Thks.

I am not aware of any such guide specifically devoted to panel data in Stata. The Stata bookstore has a number of general books on Stata which you might find helpful. Or, if you are totally focused on panel data, I would recommend that you start by reading the PDF documentation that comes with your Stata installation. If you have not already read the Getting Started [GS] and User's Guide [U] volumes, do that first, to get an overall view of how Stata works. Then, for your specific interests, read the sections on the -import excel- command, and then read the sections of the [XT] volume dealing with -xt, -xtset-, and -xtreg-. If there are other panel data commands that you are interested in learning about after that, read the section(s) on that (those) command(s).

In addition to Clyde's recommendations, this may also be useful: https://www.princeton.edu/~otorres/Panel101.pdf

        Chokri:
I share previous comments and I confirm that there's no such a thing as a textbook that goes like "Getting yourself familiar with panel data regression with Stata form A to Z".
That said, I would however recommend the following, valuable textbook that was conceived for Stata users dealing with microeconometrics (that, in turn, includes panel data regression): https://www.stata.com/bookstore/micr...metrics-stata/.
        Kind regards,
        Carlo
