Im writing on my bachelor thesis and i have a question
Ive made a survey with about 200 People. They answered 14 Questions with likert skalas but i have problem.
As you see every item is a variable and every person gave a scale from 1-5 on my likert skala (from never to always). -> Picture 1
If i try to merge the Variables , but then i get something like in Picture 2,
But i want to have it like in Picture 3.
My method usally is to sum up the numbers and then divide it through the numbers of items but picture 2 shows that it doesnt work.
So i want to generate a Variable which sums up the answers and has only 5 expressions for the likert skala.
So my goal is to make a Summindex so i can analyse.
Which commands can i use to generate the right variable?
