  • BMI-for-age WHO 2007 reference

    Hello,

May I know the syntax to calculate BMI-for-age for 5-19 years using WHO 2007 reference.

    Thank you
    Rumana

You didn't get a quick answer. You'll increase your chances of a useful answer by following the FAQ on asking questions - provide Stata code in code delimiters, readable Stata output, and sample data using dataex. Assume we are not from your area - while many of us know what a BMI means, we don't know what the WHO 2007 reference is (and you don't provide a full reference even if we wanted to look it up).

Without any idea of your data structure and you not telling us what you want to calculate in your posting, we can't do much for you.

While you definitely want to follow the sound advice provided by Phil, I wildly assuming that you want to calculate BMI-z scores based on WHO-reference and if this is correct you need to install 'zanthro' package written by Time Cole et al. Search the package within Stata and install it :

      Code:
      findit zanthro
Once you have installed it, here is an example with fictitious data:

      Code:
      *******Data example*********

li age sex wt ht bmi in 1/10, clean noobs
