  • Selection Correction Term "selmlog" command

    Dear Community,

It is my first post here and I hope I am following all the rules.

I am currently using the user written command "Selmlog" to correct for self selection into the labour market when looking at wage difference between women and men.

I want to use this term afterwards to include it in the Oaxaca Blinder Decomposition method.

The selmlog gives me as the auxiliar regression sigma and rho.

I can store the rhos of each regression run.

My question would be is this rho the selection correction term or do I need to manipulate it in order to include in my decomposition method?

Thank you very much in advance!

    Dear Katharina,
I couldnt find the selmlog command from within Stata. I think you can access it from here "http://www.parisschoolofeconomics.co...selmlog13.html"
Based on the helpfile that is provided there, in order to obtain the equivalent to the selection correction terms, you need to use the option "gen".
Im unaware of how exactly the syntax would have to be, as i didnt get to download the programs, but this should point you in the right direction.
