  • Stata program for Blau and Kahn (2007)

    Hi,

I am intersted in coding a model that is similar to Blau and Kahn (2007), but I dont have many experiences in stata before. Could you please give me some directions in terms of what stata commands could be helpful (ie., xtprobit)? Also, this is a relatively classic paper, I am wondering whether I could find an existing stata program that is similar to this one?

    Thank you very much!

    Best,

    Ganghua Mei

From the FAQ: 13. How should I give literature references?

Please give precise literature references. The literature familiar to you will be not be familiar to all members of Statalist. Do not refer to publications with just author and date, as in Sue, Grabbit, and Runne (1989).

References should be in a form that you would expect in an academic publication or technical document. Good practice is to give a web link accessible to all or alternatively full author name(s), date, paper title, journal title, and volume and page numbers in the case of a journal article.

GUESS: Francine D. Blau & Lawrence M. Kahn, 2007. "Changes in the Labor Supply Behavior of Married Women: 1980–2000," Journal of Labor Economics, University of Chicago Press, vol. 25, pages 393-438.

To add to Mike and Chen's comments, you'll increase your chances of a helpful answer by following the FAQ on asking questions - provide Stata code in code delimiters, readable Stata output, and sample data using dataex.

It is much better if you can explain your problem in your post. Asking us to read a paper to help you is a bit of an imposition - it may get a response if someone happens to know the paper or if the paper sparks someone's interest, but it does lower your chances of a really helpful response..
