  • Multidimensional Energy Poverty Index (MEPI)

I'm currently working on something related to energy access. While I could easily generate a binary variable (connected/not connected), I'd like to use the MEPI. I have read the paper that describes the method, but I have no idea how to implement it in STATA. I would really appreciate some help as to how to go about it.
I have attached the document that describes the method.

You didn't get a quick answer. You'll increase your chances of a useful answer by following the FAQ on asking questions - provide Stata code in code delimiters, readable Stata output (fixed spacing fonts helps), and sample data using dataex. Many on this list will not open files due to concerns about viruses.

If you want our help, take the time to explain the what you want to calculate in standard statistical terminology (few if any of us are from your specific research area). It is also essential that we understand your data structure - that's the reason for the dataex sample. I found the paper you cite on line. It seems like the index is just a sum of dummy variables which is easy to do. You convert each of the dimensions into dummies and then add them up. You can weight if you want, but I didn't see in the paper where the weights come from. But, you might have to take the original data (?is it strings like a name for type of cooking fuel?) into dummies.

Is there any command in stata to calculate censored headcount ratio while calculating Multidimensional Povery Index??
