  • new ASA "statement" re: p-values

as has been discussed in this Forum in the past, the ASA previously issued a statement attempting to, at least, downplay the use of p-values; one criticism of their statement is that it was very weak (being kind here) on what to do instead

a new issue, I think completely open, of The American Statistician has just been released with a number of "ideas"; I have not read the full set of 43 papers (!) yet; at any rate, one might want to start with the editorial which in 19 pages attempts to summarize the issue and the accompanying papers; here is the url: https://tandfonline.com/toc/utas20/current?nav=tocList

Rich Goldstein Thank you for sharing this important information. Thumbling through the material (yet to be read thoroughly), maybe I'm wrong but it seems that, on account of a potentially biased (frequentist) perspective, there is - sorry for the pun - a "truly significant" moving towards a (somewhat) Bayesian approach.
    Best regards,

    Marcos
