  • How to test pro-poorness of growth if the sample size in two surveys are not equal

    Hi,
I would like to test pro-poorness of growth. In the example “Testing for pro-poorness of growth in Mexico” in the “USER MANUAL DASP version 1.4”, the sample size of three sub-samples are all 2000 observations. In my data, there are 2000 an 3000 observations for 2005 and 2015, respectively. When I test the pro-poor growth using DASP, including pro-poor indices and curves, 1000 observations deleted.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    Thanks for your support!

You didn't get a quick answer. You'll increase your chances of a quick answer by following the FAQ on asking questions - provide Stata code in code delimiters, readable Stata output, and sample data (which you do). Also, remember that we are not in your area - few if any of us know what pro-poorness means or what DASP stands for. It is your job to explain the problem in general statistical terms so we can help you.

Generally, having different sample sizes should not be an issue in testing whether means differ.
