using factor score as dependend variable

Hi all,

I tried to run an OLS regression (using reg) with a factor score as dependent variable. But now I read some posts about this and I am afraid that this might not be possible.

Can anybody help me and answer the question if I can use a factor score as dependent variable? And if yes is .reg the right way to do this?

It's perfectly possible. Whether it's a good idea is a different issue. You just run factor (or pca if your analysis is really PCA) and then predict and then regress with the new variable.
