How can I divide population level total household monthly income into 3 equal parts (like 33% in each group).

We need a better specification of your data to give a useful answer. Are observations individuals or households? Are there any other levels in the analysis (e.g. area, year/survey wave, etc.) ?

A one sentence question with no real detail allows perhaps a one-word answer: xtile?
