  • Help writing a stata function

Hello, I need help writing a Stata program that takes a number list as input and then checks which of the included numbers lies in a certain (closed) interval specified by the user (the user can simply specify the lower end and the upper end of the interval using separate options). All numbers that have been found to be part of the interval should then be displayed in ascending order. The numbers should also be stored in the return list. Its quite a challenge and any help would be appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Juan

    Juan -

This is the fourth topic you have posted to Statalist. On reviewing them, they are all very abstract - no reference to actual data or an attempted statistical analysis. They sound like the sort of tasks assigned to direct students' attention to particular programming techniques. Furthermore, you show no attempt on your part to accomplish the task at hand.

Please review the Statalist FAQ linked to from the top of the page, as well as from the Advice on Posting link on the page you used to create your post. And follow the link in the left margin of the FAQ to the Extra Advice, in which Section 4 discusses why homework questions are discouraged on Statalist.
