converting panel dataset into Cross sectional dataset

I am currently working on a panel dataset which has over 227 variables and 6623 observations for each variable. The data spans over 1967 - 1987 and I want to covert this into a cross sectional dataset and aggregate the adjoining variables.How do i do this??

Perhaps what you need is -collapse-.

The other thing you might be asking for is reshape - to make the data wide instead of long. Generally Stata handles panel data best in long format.
