  • Regress variable x - variable y against variable z.

    Dear forum,

I am currently doing an assignment where I have to use STATA to do regressions. The assignment has guided us through preparing the data and import the Excel file to STATA. The teacher has also done some examples to get us started. Only issue is the "s1minuss10" variable in the table below. The assignment didn't mention anything like this in the part about preparing the data, and in his example (where he show the code etc) the s1minuss10 is missing. Do we have to go into our data sheet and create these variables or is it anything we can do in STATA? I tried to do "reg size1-size10 mktrf" but that didn't work.

    Best regards.

Evidently you missed the prompt to read up on our policy on homework questions. https://www.statalist.org/forums/help#adviceextras #4 Short summary is Please don't ask us to do your homework. I am a teacher too and can tell you that doing this would be against the regulations of my own university.

FWIW, either this makes no sense to anyone apart from your teacher or fellow students, or the teacher just wants you to calculate the difference between two results.
