  • MIMIC model for the Shadow Economy

    Good afternoon,

    I am trying to estimate the shadow economy using the MIMIC model. I am not familiar with this, and I have a few questions.

    1. Can sem in STATA handle panel data? I have in total 150 countries over 15 years.
    2. What format must the data be in to be accepted?
    3. Has anyone else attempted to model something like this? Any advice?

    Thanks,
    Beckie

    Beckie:
    1) N>T panel dataset with a continuous dependent variable are usually dealt with -xtreg- in Stata;
    2) the (almost mandatory) format is the -long- one;
    3) unfortunately, I cannot say.
    Kind regards,
    Carlo

      Could you solve this problem? I want to do exactly the same. I want to use STATA to replicate a paper on the shadow economy using MIMIC models for panel data
