  • Multinomial multilevel logit regression

I'm trying to estimate a multinomial multilevel logit regression, with 2 levels (company and sector) and 4 innovation structures (high, medium, low and non-innovating). The attempts were made with the gsem command from Stata 14, but there was no success. What is the routine for this type of estimation?

I think the question, as posed, is to broad and vague to be answered. There are some worked examples of multilevel multinomial logit regression in the PDF documentation that comes installed with your Stata, and you can try to follow those examples in your situation. If that doesn't work for you, I suggest that you post some example data and also show the code that you tried, as well as explaining in what way its results were not what you wanted. With that information to work with, somebody can probably help you.

If you do post back with example data, please use the -dataex- command to do so. If you are running version 15.1 or a fully updated version 14.2, it is already part of your official Stata installation. If not, run -ssc install dataex- to get it. Either way, run -help dataex- to read the simple instructions for using it. -dataex- will save you time; it is easier and quicker than typing out tables. It includes complete information about aspects of the data that are often critical to answering your question but cannot be seen from tabular displays or screenshots. It also makes it possible for those who want to help you to create a faithful representation of your example to try out their code, which in turn makes it more likely that their answer will actually work in your data.

When asking for help with code, always show example data. When showing example data, always use -dataex-.

I agree with Clyde that you gave us very little to go on. You attempted to use gsem with no success does not tell us much that can help us help you. What did you try exactly? why do you think it was not an success?

Anyhow, did you look at https://www.statalist.org/forums/for...-no-panel-data
