  • Adding title to, and exporting, -tabdisp-

    Hello,

I have made a table using the -tabdisp- command, however I have not found a way of making titles to these tables, and there seems to be no way of exporting the tables to word or as a .txt file.

I would highly appreciate it if anyone could help me with this.

If it is not possible, are there any other commands that can make the same kind of tables that -tabdisp- does? Here is a sample of one of the tables I am producing:
    year #returns #winsorised Low High
    1980 1984 2 -23.08% 20.00%
    1981 3012 3 -18.75% 30.00%
    1982 4284 4 -18.75% 20.83%
    1983 4807 5 -20.45% 25.00%
    1984 6500 7 -18.75% 27.27%
    1985 8964 9 -15.39% 20.83%
    1986 9250 9 -16.67% 19.05%
    1987 8283 8 -23.53% 26.23%
    1988 6578 7 -23.53% 33.33%
    1989 8283 8 -18.18% 26.32%
    1990 9213 9 -20.00% 20.00%

    Thanks!

I don't know of any title options. I just use display.

You don't need anything special to save it as a .txt file: just use log.

(If I were reviewing your paper or examining your thesis, I would suggest not repeating % so often!)

      Thanks Nick, log worked.

And thanks for the tip regarding %, it's duly noted!

The tabdisp command does not return anything in e() or r(). Therefore, exporting its output to MS Word, Excel, or LaTeX has remained a challenge. Recently, I created a program inside asdocx to create tables just like tabdisp. In fact, the name and the syntax of the program are exactly the same as tabdisp, one has to add the asdocx as a prefix. Here is one example https://fintechprofessor.com/asdocx/...xcel-or-latex/

Check out my asdoc program, which sends outputs to MS Word.
For more flexibility, consider using asdocx which can send Stata outputs to MS Word, Excel, LaTeX, or HTML.
