  • xtivreg2 command does not allow vce(robust) option

I am using the xtivreg2 command with the vce(robust) option, but I keep getting the error message option() vce not allowed. I am using STATA version 14.2 and I've already tried updating the xtivreg2 and ivreg2 commands as was suggested on earlier threads in this forum, but I am still getting the error message. This is an example of the command I am using:

    xtivreg2 dthrate sanitation_totpop educ_index_ipol pop_growth pr_cl (dco_healthaid_GDP = L2.dco_healthaid_GDP L3.dco_healthaid_GDP), fe vce(robust)

xtivreg works fine, but I'd prefer xtivreg2 with the robust option because of the test statistics that it reports.

    Thank you for your help.

    Best,
    Lynda

You're using newer syntax with an oldish command. The help for xtivreg2 (SSC, as you're asked to explain) documents a robust option.

      Dear Nick,

Thank you for your quick response - dropping vce solved my problem.

      Have a pleasant day,
      Lynda
