Hello,

when I want to install xtabond 2 on stata 15.1 I get always this error: cannot write in directory D:\Stata\Stata15\ado\plus\x
r(603);
I using the program on the computer of my university.
Is this the problem that I'm only a user and not an admin with all permissions?

Yes. You need write permission. You should be able to use adopath to tell Stata where PLUS should be, and so let installations be to filespace under your control.

I'd also take up with technical people at your University that Stata users can't (easily) install extras. That may be deliberate, for all I know.

(This wouldn't happen at my University, so it's soluble.)
