  • Update to -grstyle- and new package -palettes- available from SSC

Thanks to Kit Baum, an update to the grstyle package is now available from SSC. Type
    Code:
    . ssc install grstyle, replace
    . ssc install palette, replace
    to install the update.

    Main changes:
    • There is a new command called grstyle set that creates batches of scheme entries for specific purposes (e.g. styling of background and coordinate system, setting colors, symbols and line patterns, etc.). This greatly enhances the functionality of grstyle.
    • Command grstyle refresh is discarded as the settings will now be refreshed automatically.
The palettes package, which is required by grstyle, provides a wide variety of color palettes and also provides some symbol and line pattern palettes. Its commands (colorpalette, symbolpalette, and linepalette) can also be employed directly without using grstyle.

For examples on grstyle and the palettes commands see http://repec.sowi.unibe.ch/stata/grstyle/index.html and http://repec.sowi.unibe.ch/stata/palettes/index.html.

just to note an apparent typo in the announcement above; the package appears to be called "palettes" (note the final "s")

Note that grstyle and palettes have been updated on SSC.

grstyle is a command to customize the look of graphs; palettes, which is used by grstyle, provides a wide variety of color palettes and color generators (as well as symbol palettes and line pattern palettes).

There are also two new working papers available that illustrate the use of the commands: ben
