  • Show all levels of categorical variable in Cox-Proportional Hazard output table

    Hi,
New member, but I've had many problems solved from here before joining today.
Running a cox proportional hazard on categorical variables of three levels. Output table do not show me the respective HR for each of the three levels compared to the base/reference.
Is there a way to do this?
    Thank you

if you really have 3 levels, then one of those is the base level to which the other two are compared; thus, there should be two HR's; more generally, assuming you are using factor variable notation (see "help fvvarlist"), you can add the option "allbase" to your command to see the reference group; I find this particularly useful when I have labeled the various levels; if this appears not to answer your question, please use CODE blocks (see the FAQ) to post exactly what your command was (use copy-paste) and to post exactly what Stata gave you back

Thank you so much for the quick reply.
"... thus, there should be two HR's": This is the surprise. I expected two HRs and getting only one.
Looks like the allbase option will work
