I am trying to change my directory vut keeping getting r(170)
I am inputting

drop _all

cd "/Users/wiggins/Documents/CFDA awards.xlsx"

and getting

unable to change to /Users/wiggins/Documents/CFDA awards.xlsx
r(170);

I am new to Stata so any advice helps,

When you get an error code that you don't understand in Stata, the first step is to click on the blue text of the error code number. If you do that here, Stata will explain:

[P] error . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Return code 170
unable to chdir
(Unix and Mac.) cd was unable to change to the directory you
typed because either it does not exist, it is protected, or it
is not a directory.

In this case, it is probably the last that applies. I would bet at least a small amount of money that CFDA awards.xlsx is an Excel file, not a directory.
