  • Interpretation of insignificant interaction terms

    I have two predictors in ordered logit model. A( income scale coded as 1- 10) and B (religious individual 1- yes, 0-no)
    Dummies for income and for religious are significant, but interaction terms are not.
    How to interpret and handle this situation? Should I retain the interaction term in the equation? Does it mean that B is insignificant after all?

    The best way to approach your query would be presenting command and output, as recommended in the FAQ.

    That said, without a significant p-value for the interaction term, your model wouldn't "improve" much by maintaing it.

    But you shouldn't take is as bad news. In fact, generally speaking, that means both predictors are important to your model, and you shouldn't be concerned about interaction between both.

            As underlined in #2, the second command did not seem to improve the model. Neither the third as well.

            For the moment, I have just a smartphone and cannot test the command in Stata.
