Good day, Clyde Schechter! I will be having my class requirement in Econometrics. I will be using DiD. My study is to evaluate the impact of the mining industry in one of the municipalities where mining operation exists. Two municipalities are involved in my research, the treated (municipality with mining) and the controlled (municipality without mining). I will be using the data from census of population and housing in year 1990, 2000 and 2010. Here are the variables that will be used in my study. With the variables that I have should I run the DiD regression in each variable?
It is, in general, not a good idea to address questions to a particular forum member here. There are many who actively respond to questions, and, at best, by addressing your question to some particular person, you discourage others who might respond sooner or better, from answering it.
In this case, it is even a larger mistake. I'm not an econometrician and I have no real knowledge about which of these variables might be relevant to include. You can definitely receive a more informed answer from one of the many economists/econometricians who are active here than from me. To do that, however, you also need to explain what the different variables are. While some seem obvious, such as sex, some seem cryptic, such as schattnd, or vague, such as ind. So I suggest you post back with a clearer explanation of what your data set offers, and leave it open to anybody who chooses to respond.
