  • PSM, IPSW, LATE, LARF analysis using Stata 9.0

Greetings from Nigeria. I really need the assistance and guidance of Stata forum on some project work we hope to carry out in Nigeria. It is on the Impact of the adoption of a biofortified food variety on the welfare outcomes of particular farming households.
First I need to know if the Stata 9 analytical software can be used to do the following types of analysis proposed for the study: i) Inverse Propensity Score Weighting technique ii) Local Average Treatment Effect (LATE) iii) Local Average Response Function (LARF).
Secondly, can anyone be kind enough to provide me dofiles on these types of analysis and snapshots of the results view, if possible.
I will be more than grateful if I am oblige this big favour.
    Thank you!

This thread may help you with the IPSW.

ii) LATE is a cutomised analysis based on potential outcomes outlined in Rubin's causal model. The observations are substantive and varies study to study. I don't think it is possible to come up with one LATE application that suits all scenarios. You need to analyze this by yourself fitting your study scenario i.e. potential compliance class/strata and estimate the treatment effect within the stratum. Moment based estimates can be obtained applying Instrumental Variable (IV) with the Two-Stage-Least Square (2SLS) (see Stata's help for ivregress) and model based estimation can be obtained implementing Maximum-Likelihood or Bayesian data augmentation procedure.

iii) Not sure about the third (LARF) but seems like another IV application. Stata also has ivreg2 for more sophisticated IV analyses but you will need at least Stata-version.11 to use it in full capacity.
