  • How to generate a line plot for pre- and post- survey responses

    Hi Everyone,

I'm having some trouble getting started with analyzing my dataset and could use some help. First off I want to compare participant responses based on a set of survey questions. Currently each survey question has it's own variable name and participants responded based on a Likert scale. In Stata I organized the two datasets (for baseline and post intervention responses) vertically. The baseline responses are displayed above the final responses since all of the survey variable names pre- and post- intervention are the same.

I want to look at only a set of variables (pertaining to a specific set of survey questions), for the participants at baseline and at final. I want to see a line for each participant (one color for baseline and one color for final) to see how their responses overlapped or changed across those set of survey questions. Is this the best way to visualize the change in survey response each response?

    What would you suggest?

    Thanks,
    Jonah

This is a repeat of a post just a few hours earlier.

See http://www.statalist.org/forums/help#adviceextras #1 for advice on not doing that.

I guess you didn't get a reply because this was just too open and general and lacking a detailed data example. That's not to guarantee a reply from anyone, including me, even if you improve the question, as there is no rule that every question gets an answer.

You also seemed to flag it as somehow urgent and important. The forum software allows that, but it really doesn't work: it is even likely to be counterproductive.
