I am hoping someone can assist me with the logic behind MCA. I am trying to create an index from a selection of responses to survey questions. What I would like to know is, when is it necessary to use MCA instead of PCA? How does one interpret the 2 dimensional matrices (what is the difference between dimension 1 and 2?).
