Xstata 14 segfaults on linux

I have installed Stata 14 on my machine (I run Arch Linux) and I get a segfault before I get too see anything of the gui.

I tried to install older version of the library mentioned in the error, that is, gdk-pixbuf, gtk and glib as well as libpng ( I have newer version of all of them installed) but that didn't work.

Any suggestion?

Its a little late... but i had same problems today with STATA 14 on SLES 12 SP4 . My solution has been as follows...

1. run stata (text only) as root
2. make sure your server is connected/can access the interwebs
3. within stata console enter commands: update query
4. follow the instructions on screen to download and install online updates to the software.
5. enter "exit" within the stata console
6. start xstata ( ./xstata )

After that xstata ran just fine for me.
