How do I shade recessionary periods on graphs? Is there a way to do Markov Switching in Stata 13?

Hi guys I'm a bit new but if I'm breaking any post rules, please tell me.

Shading areas
Unfortunately I can't use Kit Baum's nbercycle because I'm using Australian data. I've found my structural breaks and hope to colour these areas. How would I do this in Stata 13?

Markov Switching
It seems Stata 14 has support. I heard that you can do it with the "switchr" command. Is this true and how would I start?
