  • New computer with an old STATA license?

I bought and installed Stata 12 for Mac when it was released a few years ago. Licence type: single user. That laptop no longer functions. I have now purchased a Mac Book Air and would like to use this same license. Is this possible?
Note, back then Stata 12 came with a disc and my new Mac Book Air does not have a disc drive. I do have a the serial number, code and authorization key.

    Many thanks in advance.

Have you tried one of the Mac SuperDrives? I have Stata 12 installed on my Mac BookPro without issue. The license allows the software to be installed on multiple computers assuming you are the user of the computer. Another option might be to use the migration assistant or to create a time machine backup and use that to restore the software on the new machine.
