  • how to generate a quantile plot?

    Dear all,

    I'm a Stata beginner.

I have four years data, and i'd like to graph a plot as photo.

Y-axis is expenditure, and X-axis is quantile for age.

I've searched the way to graph this pilot but have no idea.

What code should I write to graph this pilot?

      Thank you for your reply

I know this command, but don't know how to use in my case.

Can you give me an example?

I've written various papers on quantile plots in Stata as well as a help file for -qplot-, so it's the other way round. You should show us your variable names and data structure, what code you tried and why it's not what you want.

          HI Nick,

I have four health expenditure as my dependent variable, such as outpatient expenditure, inpatient expenditure, and several dummy variables and continuous variable(age, inpatient day...etc) as my independent variable.

I've read your paper and using "search qplot" command but have no idea how to write, and I have tried -qplot- but couldn't graph the plot as photo

Please read FAQ Advice especially #12.

I suspect you have independent and dependent confused here.

Sorry, but I am now nearer understanding what you tried and why it is not what you want, as you have yet to post example data and example code.
