I am trying to use level 1 and level 2 variance from a MLM for a new calculation (to calculate a 'shrinkage factor'). Intuitively the solution is just to copy the results into a formula; however I have a large number of DVs and would like to automate the process. Any help would be much appreciated. The formula is the level 2 variance divided by the level 2 variance + the level 1 variance divided by the group size (so that each group has its own shrinkage factor).
