  • Meta-analysis, how to use the metan command?

    Hello everybody

I´m trying to conduct a meta-analysis using the metan command in STATA.

    My command is:

metan ne1 meane sde nc1 meanc sdc if InterventionNo==1

My question is, how do I get to label the included studies på study-name?
I´ve tried namevar and label but it dosen´t seem to work.
If you know could you be so kind to send me the command?

I would love to have your help over skype for 60 euros by paypal.

    Best regards from

    Linn Haugland

    Welcome to Statalist.

We can better help you if we know what commands you have tried and what Stata produced. Please review the Statalist FAQ linked to from the top of the page, as well as from the Advice on Posting link on the page you used to create your post. See especially sections 9-12 on how to best pose your question. It's particularly helpful to copy commands and output from your Stata Results window and paste them into your Statalist post using CODE delimiters, as described in section 12 of the FAQ.

From section 12 of the FAQ
Say exactly what you typed and exactly what Stata typed (or did) in response. N.B. exactly!
    ...
Never say just that something “doesn't work” or “didn't work”, but explain precisely in what sense you didn't get what you wanted.
Your problem could be as simple a misunderstanding of the syntax, but we cannot know because we have not seen the command you issued and the results from Stata.

Beyond that, I note that metan is a user-written command, as the FAQ asks you to mention. The help for metan (help metan) gives names of the various authors, and at least one email address. Perhaps one of them would be able to help.
