  • Toggling between do file & output in Stata/SE 13.1 for Mac?

I am familiar with using Stata on a PC but am new to Stata/SE for Mac (13.1 version). Is there a shortcut on Stata for Mac to toggle between viewing one's do file and viewing the output? Many thanks.

Welcome to Statalist, and to the Mac!

From Stata's Window menu, you will see the various windows listed. To the right of the entry for the Command window you'll see the shortcut ⌘1 where the icon before the digit 1 represents the Mac "command" key (the icon may no be reliably represented in all web browsers, apologies if it's not correct); on your Mac the icon appears on the keys to the left and right of the space bar, which along with the icon have the word "command" on the keys. (At least on my MacBook Air.) Further down the Window menu, put your cursor over Do-file Editor, a new popup appears on the right showing ⌘9 as the shortcut to the Top Do-file.

Note also that ⌘+` is a general shortcut in OSX for toggling between windows of the same application (and ⌘+Tab toggles between applications; on Windows, Alt+Tab essentially blends the two functions, since Windows treats multiple windows of one program the same as separate programs).
