  • Data editor toolbar options and menu items greyed out

    Hi All,

I'm a relatively new user to Stata, currently using SE 14 on a Mac. Last night I updated to the 10 June 2015 revision. When using Stata today, I cannot access any of the toolbar options or menu items in the data editor window (e.g. filter, variable, properties, etc.). Corresponding options are also greyed out on the drop-down menus. I am however able to write out commands.

This issue is replicated across all .dta files, whether created before or after the update, including example datasets. Not sure if I have a corrupt update file, or whether there is something very elementary I'm missing here. Any guidance would be much appreciated!

    Best,

    Robbie

Thank you Chinh. Do you have a sense of when we might expect the fix? Is it possible to roll back to a previous revision in the meantime?

      Best,

        Hi Chinh,

I'm still experiencing this exact issue with Stata 14 MP4 as of the 23 Jun 2015 update level. Any notion of when this will be fixed?

        Thanks,
        Pete

Sorry for my late reply. It's been fixed and we hope to release the update within the next couple of weeks.

I have just updated to Stata/SE 14.1 and this problem is not resolved. All options in Data Editor (I'm trying to use properties) are grayed out. Is there a fix?

Nevermind, I found the problem. I was in Browse Mode instead of Edit Mode.
