  • treatment effects and marginal structural models

The documentation on the teffects command appears to describe a program to solve a marginal structural model (MSM). This documentation does not, however, use this term nor does the paper by Cattaneo (J Econometrics 2010:155:138-54) which is referenced by this documentation. Is it correct to refer to this command as using a MSM? In epidemiology, such models are usually referred to as MSMs rather than treatment effect models. However, I do not want to describe the teffects command incorrectly.

Any clarification on this terminology would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

I, too, am uncertain whether the stteffects commands can do the marginal structural models analysis described by Fewell et al. in the Stata Journal 2004. Could anyone provide some insight, please? Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Peter.

I am investigating the effect of hallucinogens use on anxiety and someone told me I should use MSM.

You'll likely need to program it. See this book
