  • Covariate-constrained randomization for cluster RCT - code in Stata?

    Dear Stata community,

For a cluster-randomised trial, I would like to use restricted randomization to avoid baseline imbalance. I want to do what Ivers et al (Trials 2012, 13:120) describe as covariate-restricted randomisation. He quotes two articles implementing this in R and SAS (Chaudhary & Moulton, 2006: A SAS macro for constrained randomization of group-randomized designs).

Has this meanwhile also been implemented in Stata, does anyone know?

Many thanks and Happy New Year!

Sabine.Gabrysch, did you ever find the answer to this question? I am also trying to do the same thing, but can't seem to find any information.

Hi Zoe, we have eventually programmed it ourselves and will soon submit to the Stata Journal.
If you'd like to try the new command before, just send me an email (you will find me if you search for my name and Heidelberg).
Sorry, I did not see your post earlier...
      Cheers, Sabine

        Dear Sabine,

I have seen -ccrand- package. Is there any option if I want randomization for more than two arms?

        Thanks
