Hello everyone,
I have a simple technical question related to STATA 17. My employer would invest in me and buy me a Stata/MP single-user license. I have a new virtual machine with a CPU of 1TB! STATA Plc. It is officially argued that the number of real processors is critical for data analysis of larger samples. However, I am not sure whether 6-core processors are enough to run an analysis with up to 50 million companies with a shorter period with longitudinal data (now 10Y, and a further max 20Y, I suppose).
Technically, do you know if the 6-core processor version of STATA 17 would be sufficient to run xtdidregress or dose-response modeling with panel data?
Neither the 16 nor the 32 processor versions are possible to buy, unfortunately.
Thanks for all your help,
Tom
