  • Multiple linear regression please help

    Hi,

I am struggling with these last 2 questions for my Stata module at university and would really appreciate some help!

    11. Report results from multiple linear regression with time spent sleeping as the dependent variable and sex, age, and number of children as independent variables
    12. Using the above as Model 1, enter minutes of paid work (main_act17) into Model 2, and phone use before bed (phon6_0) into Model 3. Fully reported the nested regression analysis

I’m using a Data from a Time Use Survey on how people spent their time in a 24hr period. There were 5,885 respondents.
Sleeping(mainact1): minutes , sex: male and female, number of children: 0 to 5

    I ran regress mainact1 b0.nkids sex age

I made having no children the dummy variable as 4,009 of the respondents had no children so I’m using it as a reference. I don’t know if this is right in terms of answering the questions and I don’t know how to correctly interpret the output. I don't know how to analyse it in terms of using the reference category. The alpha is 0.05 which I think means that having 2 kids in reference to no kids is significant in terms of how much sleep people got ?

I added an attachment of my output if it helps.

Thank you so much in advance !
