  • An open question: Identifying possible clusters of observations in a time series - which command would you use?

    Hi everyone!

This will be a bit of an open question, as this is a developing idea, but would love to hear from the forum what commands/analysis would come to mind for this:

I have been webscrapping data about news of a particular topic (related to a geographical area, example: news about the Salomon Islands).. I have basically built a data base with all news about this particular topic from 2017 to 2020 (so a time series). I would like to identify if there are "news clusters" meaning, a change in the frequency of news, basically to identify dates where one could argue there was more "intense" coverage. IS there a command in stata that comes to mind for this? (aside from just a normal frequency plot)

    Thanks in advance
    M
