  • Test of mean differences

What is the correct command to use when I want to compare groups that are nested within each other? For example, I want to compare the mean differences of the full study population with a group of only survey respondents that come from that study population.

If I understood right, the one-sample t-test can do the trick.
    Best regards,

For more on the theory and practical considerations, see Hayes, L. J., & Berry, G. (2006). Comparing the part with the whole: should overlap be ignored in public health measures?. Journal of Public Health, 28(3), 278-282.
