Dear Stata users,
I have several variables that explain the state (approved (aprov)=1; not approved (aprov)=0) for a student i in grade (1or 2) at time t.
Because of the way my dataset is set, I cannot run fixed effects once I have students that only appears once (one year). So, I am running an xtprobit random effect model in order to identify the presence of unexplained heterogeneity between students. The LR test is significant, which is consistent with an estimate of sigma_u that is 0.6778498.
Now it comes to my question:
How can I incorporate that random effect into the parameters of my model?
I have looked at
1) Simulation-Based Power Calculations for Mixed Effects Modeling: ipdpower in Stata
2) Nonlinear multilevel mixed-effects models (https://blog.stata.com/2017/11/03/no...ffects-models/)
but none of those articles were of any good.
One more thing, once I am able to incorporate the random effect, how do I analyze the scores and compare it to a simple xtprobit estimation?
