  • How to graph hours worked and wage assimilation profiles for immigrants?

    Dear Stata Forum,
I have an unbalanced panel data set with observations at the individual level. I run hoursworked on years since migration (YSM), YSM^2 and a number of control variables. YSM is zero for natives and positive for immigrants, whereas I pool immigrants and natives in my regression. I also use logrealhourlywage on YSM, YSM^2 and a numer of controls.
I would like to create a graph with hoursworked (logrealhourlywage) on the vertical axis and YSM on the horizontal axis for immigrants. The result should look like an upward sloping, concave and smooth graph. I have played around with this a bit but I am not sure how to do it properly. It seems to me that I need to somehow incooperate information from my regression results into the graphs. May be I should use predicted hoursworked and graph that on the coefficients of YSM and YSM^2.

I would highly appreciate your help once again.

    Best wishes.

    Nico
