  • Sample Size calculation for Logistic Regression with continuous outcome

    Hello Statalisters,

I am trying to calculate a sample size needed for a case-control study in which the outcome is binary and the exposure of interest is continuous. This doesn't appear to be an option in Stata. In fact, in the help file for "power", logistic regression doesn't appear to be an option. When I try to use the menu and go to statistics --> "power and sample size", under population parameter --> odds-ratio, the only options are 1:M matched case-control studies or Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel test of association in stratified 2x2 tables. When I look under outcome --> binary, there are more options, but, other than the ones I just listed, they include only proportions. I admit, I'm not very well versed in power calculations - other than for basic t-tests or linear regressions. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
