Matching estimator for unbalanced panal data

Hi,
I want to create a control group using matching estimator . I am having an unbalanced panel data of yearly firm level observations from 2015-2022
1. Is it possible to create control group with this unbalanced panel data
2. And how to validate once the control group is created
